Ye, Vultures and Bianca Censori

In the March 2024 issue of Vogue Magazine, there's a long overdue profile about the man, myth and legend John Galliano, who is back at the helm of Maison Margiela. The essay details the story about how Galliano was essentially canceled for spewing hateful anti-Semitic marks at a popular French restaurant in Paris during  the early 2000s, pre-Facebook and camera phone era. He was súper intoxicated and apparently self- destructive state. Still, people heard it, as it was all over the press and tabloids. Almost immediately, Galliano was fired from his then designer position at the House of Dior. The article goes on to say how Galliano went through a lengthy recovery cycle, quit abusing substances and eventual made his comeback after making a public apology. 

Today, I haven't been the same since he sent Maison Margiela's collection down the runway and erupted a whole new era of loud wealth. I'm still itching to try the glass skin makeup look. 

Anyways, Ye and Galliano are both enigmatic characters in fashion and they have been my Roman Empire.  One would be stupid to think that they don't share similar storylines, outcasted and theatrical as both appear to be. Once again, fashion is political and unapologetic, addicting and hard to control.

Vulture's by Ye and Ty Dolla $ign has been on replay since they soft launched the entire album in Miami during Art Basel. Multiple songs are currently also on Billboard Top 100. I watched the pop-up concerts on livestream and through the lens of Yes Julz. It was a giving "building in public" energy which tech people can attest to and why I've been hooked to the new rebrand.

Since late 2023, Ye has been making his way back into the limelight as an independent and bullish musician and fashion designer, and personal husband-stylist to Bianca Censori. With the launch of his independent album, came another gritty version of Yeezy, his namesake brand that has gone through a dark rebrand from Adidas. Everything about it is black but authentic and daringly bold.

Fans are in it. 

His loyal fan base is pumped and ready to go. The rollout features a multi-city pop up tour in Vegas, Chicago, and Milan to name a few, with an unforgettable Superbowl commercial that earned his clothing brand $19 million in less than 24 hours. Plus, his firstborn daughter North West is not beating the allegation of being just like her father. Miss. Westie is the moment and with "Talking" topping the charts, her stardom is natural.

Ye is in his villain era. 

The question is if it's a good era to be in, which is up to public debate. And the people are talking critically. On top of that, there's a subset of people who think Bianca Censori is problematic because of her sexuality being flaunted without context. She's yet to be quoted by any press on what she thinks of her husband's actions. Meanwhile her style choices are shockingly and devastatingly chic. She’s submissive. It's giving bit IDK energy. Many concerns stem from her barely-there outfits. But At the Marni show, she was seen in this superhero leather bodysuit, that was giving body hottie. It would be hard to look away at her angles, her physique is toned in the paparazzi shots. Not to mention, Ye has been notorious for creative directing paparazzi shots. I don’t know enough to disagree with her relationship to Ye, but from what I see, she’s out making a statement. Being with a man like Ye, you can’t wear just anything. I Can see her architecture background also playing a role in her style. I think she likes what she wears in public at least. 

But to me, the public’s opinion all very contradictory and closed-minded. She looked happy at the Marni show, and if you're going to attend a show like Marni, you better bring it.  Aren't celebrities supposed to orchestrate their whole career? I'd rather not be a puppet but the director, even if it's outlandish and against public opinion. Who cares? Meanwhile, his clothing sales have skyrocketed. I heard he was going broke, but IDK what that means because that can all change fast with the speed of money. 

It's not like she's getting catcalled to her face. 

It's the clothes that are wearing Bianca, and in this case, it's totally okay in this instance. She’s been seen in stockings, a bikini top with just the nipples covered, a poncho of sorts. I wouldn't wear any of it, but if she likes it, do you boo! Maybe she wanted a rebranding too. When you're in a relationship with someone as masculine as Kanye West, that requires a lot of patience and attention to detail, I would imagine.

While architecture was hopping off boats in Italy last summer, we were too busy at Turks & Caicos. I mean a Kanye West makeover is a once - in - a - lifetime experience. All past girlfriends are doing well. So why are people made, again?
